We’re part of the Mass Save Heat Pump Installer Network, so we check what you qualify for, file the paperwork, and take the rebate off your price upfront.
Step 1 of 2
Every home is different, and the only way to design a system for yours is to see it.

Mass Save pays by the ton of heating and cooling capacity you install, up to a cap. Which rate you get depends on whether the heat pump replaces your old heating system or works alongside it.
The heat pump replaces your old heating system
Up to $8,500
$2,650 per ton
The heat pump works alongside the system you keep
Up to $8,500
$1,125 per ton, plus up to $1,000 in bonuses
Income-eligible households replacing oil, propane or electric heat. Or no cost, for households that qualify for Mass Save’s Residential Turnkey program.
Up to $16,000
We work out which rate your home qualifies for and put the number in your quote.
Start your quote2026 rates from masssave.com, for systems installed January 1 to December 31, 2026. A ton is 12,000 BTUs of cooling capacity. Income-based rebates and Residential Turnkey require income verification through Mass Save. Program eligibility requirements and restrictions apply, and offers are subject to change or cancellation.
Yes. Mass Save rebates ductless mini splits the same way it rebates ducted systems: by the ton, under the same caps. A mini split system that replaces your old heating system can earn the whole-home rebate, and one that works alongside it earns the partial-home rate.
They’re a good fit for homes without ductwork, homes heated by a boiler through baseboards or radiators, and anyone adding cooling to a heating system they’re keeping.

What Mass Save requires
What we do
The heat pump has to be ENERGY STAR Cold Climate certified and on the Mass Save Qualified Products List.
We install cold-climate heat pumps because they’re built to perform reliably in New England’s harsh winters.
Mass Save pays rebates only on systems installed by a contractor in its Heat Pump Installer Network.
We’re in the network, and our own in-house trained installers and electricians do the install.
Your home qualifies if it was built in 2000 or later, if a home energy assessment recommended less than $1,000 of weatherization, or if you’ve completed the recommendations made since 2013. Partial-home rebates don’t require it.
We check this as part of your quote. If your home needs a home energy assessment first, we offer those through Green Energy Gains.
The rate is set by the year your system is installed. Systems installed by December 31, 2026 are paid at 2026 rates, with paperwork due by February 28, 2027.
We file the paperwork and apply the rebate to your price upfront, so you’re never waiting on a check.
Most Forge customers finance through the Mass Save HEAT Loan: 0% interest, up to $25,000, spread over as long as seven years. We guide you through it and handle the filing. Mass Save authorizes the project and the lender approves you.
…Navigating rebates and the HEAT loan is notoriously tricky, but Forge managed it end-to-end and handled the rebate directly so I only had to pay the net price.
Navigating the Mass Save requirements is a bit of a morass and the Forge Staff helped me navigate a successful no-interest Heat Loan for the work.
